Safety

“Safety will not be comprised” is UCI’s first core value. Our Behavioral Safety Program is one of the most progressive programs in the industry.  This program has led to recognition of accomplishments by receiving the National First Place Construction Safety Excellence Award by the Associated General Contractors of America.  There are a number of elements that make UCI’s unique safety initiatives so successful.  Because each project is unique, we have developed a job safety analysis system that identifies potential hazards and provides safe solutions to those issues.

Safety is a priority with each UCI employee.  Employee incentives are provided throughout the year to reward safe performance.  Our employees are our greatest asset and keeping them safe and healthy is our number one priority.

In 2007 UCI had two sites awarded the prestigious OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) designation. The OSHA VPP is official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and healthful working conditions.  There are more than eight million work sites each year in the United States.  Less than .008% is a recipient of the OSHA VPP award.  Since 2007 UCI has been awarded three Star of Excellence Awards.
